About our Temple City concrete company

Meridian Temple City Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Temple City, CA. I started it in 2017, and our own small crew builds driveways, patios, walks and slabs, along with careful work like footings and cutting. I come out to every estimate myself and run the pours.

Raised concrete patio beside a dark brick house, with a broad smooth slab, a small step, and a low retaining wall.

How I learned concrete and why I started here

I started out as a helper on a small concrete crew, hauling, mixing and cleaning tools. The finishers I worked under checked everything twice before the truck showed up, and I learned the trade by watching how careful they were. That habit is the one I kept.

I started Meridian Temple City Concrete in 2017, and we're still a small crew doing concrete work in Temple City and the cities around it. Most of what we build is flatwork, the driveways, patios, walks and slabs around a house. The city has noted more small projects like additions and fewer big ones, and our calls look the same, homeowners improving the place they already live in.

What I care about most is getting the layout and grades right before any concrete shows up, because a bad pour usually means tearing it out. I'd also rather be straight with you up front. A few fine cracks in new concrete are normal, and I'll tell you what we do to keep them tight.

What you can expect when we pour your concrete

These are the things you'll notice from the first visit to the last cleanup. They come from how I learned the trade and from the jobs I've seen go wrong when they get skipped.

  • One person from estimate to pour

I come out to every estimate myself, and I'm the one running your pour, with our own small crew doing the work. What I measured and wrote down at your property is what gets built, because nothing has to pass through an office or a second crew in between.

  • Layout and grades checked twice

Before the truck comes, we check the layout and the grades twice, so the slab sits where it should and the water runs away from your house, not toward it. Concrete can't be quietly fixed once it sets, so this is the step we won't rush.

  • A written estimate you can compare

Your written estimate spells out what's included, so you can set it next to other bids. Look hardest at the base, the dug-out, packed layer under the slab. It's hidden on day one and it's the first place a low bid cuts, which is why we don't.

  • The right office, found early

We find out early which city or county office covers your address and help you put together what it asks for. In Temple City that's Building & Safety, which issues permits, reviews plans and inspects. Whether your job needs a permit is its call, so we ask before setting a start.

Licensing and insurance for concrete work in California

Any job that needs a building permit, uses hired workers or totals $1,000 or more in labor and materials needs a contractor licensed by the California Contractors State License Board. We're fully licensed and insured for that work.

Response time

We reply within one business day, by phone or email.

How a concrete job goes from call to cleanup

Here's how a job goes from your first call to the day you get your driveway or patio back. The steps are the same whether it's a short walk or a full slab.

  1. Call or send the form

Call (323) 471-6288 or use the form on our contact page and tell us what's going on, like a cracked driveway, a sinking patio or water pooling by the house. We reply within one business day, by phone or email, to set a time to come out.

  2. I measure at your property

I come out myself to measure and take photos. Your written estimate is free, with no obligation, and lists what the price includes. Size, tear-out of old concrete and the base your ground needs usually move it most, so you'll see those spelled out.

  3. Office check and base prep

Once the office for your address has weighed in, we set a start date, since its review can move the schedule. Then we dig out and pack the base, set the forms and place rebar, the steel inside that helps keep cracks tight, where your job calls for it.

  4. Pour, finish and curing

I run the pour, give most slabs a broom finish, a light texture so they aren't slick when wet, and cut control joints, grooves that give small cracks a place to go. Then we clean up, and the slab needs curing time to gain strength before you walk or drive on it.
