Accepting these terms

These terms cover your use of the Meridian Temple City Concrete website and any estimate, scheduling or concrete work you arrange with us. By using the site, contacting us or booking a job, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work through it.

When we sign a written estimate or contract with you for a specific job, that document controls wherever it differs from this page, because it describes your property and your project. These terms fill in anything the job agreement doesn't cover.

What we do

Meridian Temple City Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Temple City, CA. We build and repair driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, pool decks, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations, retaining walls and related work for homes and properties in Temple City and the cities around it. You can see the full list on our home page and read about how we work on our about page.

Descriptions of our services on this site are general. The exact work on your job, including the slab thickness, the base preparation, the finish and where the control joints go, is set out in your written estimate after we've seen your property.

Estimates and pricing

Our on-site estimates are free and obligation-free. An estimate is our price for the work it describes, based on what we can see and measure before the job starts.

Concrete work sometimes turns up things nobody can see until the old slab is out, such as soft or wet ground under it, buried debris, roots or old pipes. If that happens, we'll stop, show you what we found and explain what it changes before we do any added work. We won't charge for extra work you haven't approved.

Any general information about cost on this website is not a quote. Your price comes only from a written estimate for your job. An estimate stays good for the period written on it, because material and labor costs change.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We'll give you a start date and an expected length for the job when you accept the estimate. Those dates are our best plan, not a promise, because concrete depends on weather, ground conditions, material delivery and any permit or inspection that applies.

We won't pour in rain or in conditions that would weaken the surface, so we may move a pour day to protect your slab. If we need to reschedule, we'll tell you as soon as we know and set a new date with you.

If you need to cancel or move your job, please let us know as early as you can by phone at (323) 471-6288 or through our contact page. Your written agreement says whether any deposit is refundable and what happens to costs we've already paid, such as ordered materials or a booked concrete delivery.

Payment terms

Your written agreement sets out the total price, any deposit, when each payment is due and the payment methods we accept. Please read it before you sign, and ask us about anything that isn't clear.

Final payment is due when the work described in your agreement is complete, even though the concrete keeps curing, which is the slow hardening that goes on for days after the pour. If a payment is late, we may pause further work until the account is settled, and we may use the collection rights California law gives contractors.

Caring for new concrete

New concrete needs time before it can take weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and when it's safe to drive on, and we ask that you keep people, pets, vehicles and heavy items off it until then, because early loads are a common cause of cracks and surface damage.

We aren't responsible for damage that comes from using the concrete before the time we gave you, from vehicles or equipment heavier than the slab was built for, or from changes made to the work by anyone other than our crew.

Our workmanship and what it doesn't cover

We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it with you. Any specific warranty on your job, including how long it lasts and what it covers, is the one written in your agreement.

All concrete can crack. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves in the slab, so that most shrinkage cracks form along those lines instead of across the surface. Small hairline cracks, slight color differences between pours and minor surface variation are normal for concrete and aren't defects.

Unless your written agreement says otherwise, we don't cover damage from ground movement or settling outside our work area, tree roots, poor drainage elsewhere on the property, earthquakes, flooding, de-icing or harsh chemicals, lack of upkeep, or misuse. Apart from what your agreement promises in writing, our work and this website are provided without other warranties, to the extent the law allows.

Using this website

The information on this site is general and may not fit your property. It isn't engineering, legal or permit advice. Rules on permits and inspections vary by city, so check with your city's building office about what applies to your job.

Everything on the site, including its text and photos, belongs to Meridian Temple City Concrete or is used with permission. You may view and share it for personal use, but you may not copy it for commercial use without our written permission. We may link to outside websites, and we aren't responsible for their content.

Limit on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Meridian Temple City Concrete is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses connected to this website or our work, such as lost use of a driveway, lost income or the cost of other arrangements while the concrete cures.

For any claim about a job, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits liability that California law doesn't allow a business to limit.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with any part of our work or our dealings with you, please tell us first. Call us at (323) 471-6288 or reach us through our contact page, and we'll talk it through and try to put it right, which settles most problems faster than anything else.

If we can't resolve it together, either of us may take the matter to the courts in Los Angeles County, California, including small claims court where the amount qualifies.

Governing law

These terms, your use of this website and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes don't alter a written agreement you've already signed with us for a job.

If you have a question about these terms, get in touch through our contact page and we'll answer it. We usually reply within 1 business day.
